Who Is Elizabeth Bailey?

Always tricky to write about yourself. Aren’t we all made up of a collection of different personalities, parts of self that we use depending who it is we are with? You wouldn’t behave in exactly the same way in the company of your boss as you would with your friends. Your family likewise may see a different side of you. But somewhere within those facets is the inner persona, the core, the real you.

Which brings me to what I might call the prime target of my life – to become more and more the real me. To shed all the little oddities comprising those different facets. I’m not aware of most of them, that’s the problem.

You try to be all things to all people, but in reality, you are hiding parts of yourself from some and revealing them to others. What I would like is to be always the me who is true and real.

The path I’ve chosen to achieve this is through the Scientology religion. It’s more than a religion, really. It’s a way of life. Everything I’ve learned is put to use in my day-to-day existence. And every time I receive counselling, I shed another little bit of the falseness that keeps me from being myself.

Better than that, what I’ve learned I am able to use to help others. If someone is injured or sick, I have practical steps I can take to help them feel better. If someone is hurt or upset, I can use my training to help bring them out of that pain. I can even help a person to sort out a difficult problem which has no emotional travail attached.

It’s like having a guidebook on life.

It’s difficult to explain how Scientology works and what it is. The simplest way is to let people see for themselves.
